Absolutely no other reason to call anyone else! Fast response. Found the problem in 20 minutes. Two other companies spent days and hours, frying the new parts they installed. What a relief to find “friends” in the HVAC business.

As an updated follow-up: “Are you elderly, like me? Or do you have senior aged loved ones?” Mize Guys Org and its employees show a special affection and a sincere concern for those who are vulnerable, or insecure about approaching a company regarding their HVAC “mysteries”. Went to Mize Guys since they bought out Empire Mechanical. Had great experiences with Empire, cannot say enough.

Recently had Mize out when our AC stopped working and they wanted $1,300 to replace breakers and update electrical insisting nothing was wrong with the unit. Got a second opinion that found a leak in the coolant line and cleaned a connector, unit fired right up and cost less than $200.

Recommend shopping around.

I can’t recommend The Mize Guys strongly enough. They installed a new wine cooling system over two and a half years ago which stopped working recently. Although it was definitely far out of warranty, they stood by their work, persuaded the equipment supplier to replace the failed component, out of warranty, and got the system running again for a very reasonable cost. Mize Guys (formerly Empire Mechanical) has done a variety of HVAC projects for us, such as installing additional vents for our heating system, and installing an excellent ductless heating and cooling unit in a large master bedroom. All of the work has been excellent, and the team is both friendly and highly knowledgeable.

Last year, storms and flooding put my ductless system out of action. They promptly showed up and diagnosed the issue. It turned out that storm weather damaged the electrical circuit outside of the house. This was actually installed by my electrician (also a great resource), Walter Vaughan. Even before I could text Walter for help, they were in touch with him, telling him what they had found .. so we could get it fixed promptly.

This year, during the hottest part of the summer, our air conditioner stopped working. Within hours, they got to the house, checked everything, and confirmed that the issue was just a breaker that was tripping inappropriately. They conveyed their findings to our electrician (Walter), so that his folks could replace it and check to be sure that they too saw nothing actually overloading the circuit.

We have been pleased enough with Jay and his team to sign up for their ongoing maintenance plan. This covers scheduled work to keep our equipment running well .. and it also provides discounts for emergency calls outside of ordinary business hours.

I highly recommend them, and we plan to be long term customers.

Irritated customer. I have a noisy motor in a gree air handler, mize guys staff asked for a video of the sound to diagnose the issue before scheduled a service call. They stated it would be $99 for a service call to verify. Cool didn’t think anything of it. Well their tech shows up, looked at my ac unit for less than 5 seconds, didn’t even open the unit, and then proceed to charge me for a service call and diagnostic fee totaling $258. A day later they called me with the quote to replace the motor that was $1519. I paid $1800 for the entire three zone system 8 years ago. Ordered the parts to do the repair myself for $63, support bearing and motor. I have no idea what they were doing to justify a $1500 repair bill on an air handler I can order brand new for $215. Other than that they were very responsive and nice. Please have your office staff inform customers of diagnostic fees or better yet include them in your service call fee. I feel very ripped off for less than 10 mins of your techs time. Lesson learned.
